The first step in achieving your long-term skin goals for 2023, is building a personalised plan for you and your skin… and how can we do that? Say hello to The Visia Skin Analysis, your new best friend! The Visia offers a way to medically image the skin’s surface as well as its deeper layers, showing you areas of strength and others of irregularities or skin imperfections that need treatment.
Every person’s skin is different and that’s why the skin mapping report is SO valuable. It helps Dr Alek and his team build a custom plan for in-practice treatments, as well as a home care program for the year ahead based on what your skin really needs.

The Benefits of Visia Skin Analysis
The Visia skin mapping shows in detail what damage or irregularities are present and provides a concise road map for treatment. Another key benefit of the Visia Skin Analysis is that if done before and after the treatment plan, it offers a way to see exactly how your customised plan improved the skin and its appearance to reach your 2023 goals.
How is a Visia Skin Analysis Performed
The skin therapist will take multiple images of your face from the front, right and left. The images are taken under different wavelengths of light, which help to identify different skin imperfections. The Visia will scan your skin, looking at its strengths and weaknesses, it can measure your skin pigmentation, pore size and porphyrins (evidence of bacteria lodged in pores). It also scans UV spots, sun damage, texture, and wrinkles.

Once a personalised treatment plan has been created for you, it is great to keep in mind some of the summer safe chemical peels on offer at our practice. As the festive season calms down and we all slowly start to settle back into our routines. Chemical peels are a great way to maintain the skin in between having more aggressive treatments like Fractional Lasers and IPL.
Stay sun safe, with these gentle and safe chemical peels on offer at our practice:
sk.in pro peels:
Glycolic 20% and 35% – this is best for pigmentation, anti-ageing and hydration. We avoid the 50% in summer as it could make the skin too sun sensitive. The key benefits: brightens the complexion and provides a glowing skin.
Mandelic Lactic Acid: this peel is great for those dealing with acne, breakouts, congestion, rosacea and sensitive skin. Mandelic acid is an anti-inflammatory and decongestant, while lactic acid is hydrating. This combination leaves your skin feeling fresh with a softer and smoother complexion.
Kojic Acid: This is for pigmentation specifically and when used in combination with the glycolic or mandelic acid, these peels are a powerful targeted treatment for pigmentation.
Dermaquest:
Power Pumpkin Resurfacer
This is a great acid peel containing pumpkin pulp. It is a fantastic peel for acne, rosacea and perimenopausal skin. It has anti-inflammatory and hydration benefits, leaving the skin with a healthy glow.
iS Clinical:
Fire and Ice Facial – this is a glycolic acid-based treatment. The resurfacing (fire) mask stimulates and exfoliates the skin, while the rejuvenating (ice) gel mask cools and soothes the skin. It is the perfect treatment to have a few days before an event, as it boasts hydrating qualities and is suitable for all skin types. Precaution: As with any treatment it is best to stay out of direct sunlight immediately after a peel, but don’t worry, you can still enjoy summer with sunscreen and a hat.
